Catalonia

Our new tour Photo-tourism explores the vibrant city of Barcelona through the lens. The focus is set to capture the past and present soul of the old town from different angles and with different lights. In the evening sessions we analyse the photos taken during the day and give some background theory.

This tour explores the essentials of Catalonia: “Mar i Muntanya” (sea & mountain) From the foothills of the Pyrenees it runs along the Via Verde through northern Spain's volcanic countryside and ancient walled villages to the port town of Sant Feliu de Guixols on the Mediterranean coast. We stroll through the medieval back streets in Girona and the Ramblas in Barcelona.

Catalonia is far more than just Barcelona and the coast. On this trip we offer a combination of cultural exploration of the capitals fine medieval towns such as Girona and Santa Pau or the unique world of Salvador Dali´s Theatre Museum in Figueres with very diverse walking in the serrated mountain of Montserrat, along the north coast and in La Garrotxa with its extinct volcanoes.

The Catalan Pyrenees can boast soaring peaks topping 3000m and lush meadows, streams and waterfalls, impressive glacial valleys and medieval mountain villages. Based in two family run hotels we will explore the surroundings of the National Park Aigües Tortes. Back after the day's walk, we can enjoy the delicious local food.
