About this tour

Sardinia is still the “uncut” diamond among the Mediterranean islands. Very sparsely populated, it features some breathtaking scenery with low impact car traffic, ideal for cycling on the island’s back-roads . Bosa and Alghero are beautiful historic towns, the Sardi people are overwhelmingly hospitable and their food delicious + very authentic. Cycling on Sardinia is perfect for combining these experiences with stops on some of the many great beaches with turquoise waters unique to this part of the Mediterranean.

Recommended Airport:

Day 1: Buongiorno Sardegna!
Arrival to Olbia or Alghero airport and transfer to hotel in Bosa.
Day 2: To Alghero
We drive inland to Vilanova de Monteleone and start cycling from here through pasture land on the high plateau, gradually descending into Alghero. We have time to visit the lovely historic town centre  or beaches before we drive back to Bosa by bus. (27km cycling)
Day 3: Tresnuraghes and the pirate watch tower
We cycle through the Malvasia vineyards up to Tresnuraghes village and from there to the old pirate watchtower Torre Foghe on the rugged coast south of Bosa. Later we head back on a different route. In the afternoon it is possible to organize some wine tasting. (41km cycling)
Day 4: Sinis peninsula
We drive to the Sinis peninsula and visit the remains of the Greek city Tharros before getting on the bikes to cycle along untouched, beautiful beaches. Afterwards, we transfer to Fonni up in the Gennargentu Mountains for our overnight stop. (27km cycling)
Day 5: Along Supramonte to Orosei
Leaving Fonni, we first cycle to Orgosolo – famous for its wall paintings in the village. After that we continue riding, always with the Supramonte mountains on our right as the stunning backdrop. Once reaching Cedrino lake we load the bikes and drive to the next hotel in Orosei. (55km cycling)
Day 6: Free day
Free day to enjoy the local beaches or a boat trip into the turquoise waters of the mind-blowing Golfo di Orosei.
Day 7: Bidderosa National Park
We cycle north of Orosei on small back-roads to the famous Cala Liberotto and later on to Bidderosa National Park with its secluded beaches and great forest nearby.  In the afternoon we head back to Orosei on our bikes. (43km cycling)
Day 8: Arrivederci amici!
End of tour and transfer back to airport.
