Mallorca is southern Europe’s most popular cycling destination for road bikers in search of good weather in spring and autumn. Our trip focuses on undemanding cycling through back-roads in the northern part of the island, all from our comfortable base in Porto Pollenca. Combine this with great beaches and some stunning scenery of the Sierra Tramuntana as a backdrop.
Arrive to Mallorca and transfer to hotel in Porto Pollença.
We cycle off from our hotel, through the wet lands of the protected area of the Albufera Natural Park. We then get to Alcudia village and soon to the Victoria peninsula. After enjoying great views across the cliffs and the entire bay we ride back to our hotel on a different route.
We cycle off from the hotel for a round trip in the area. First we ride inland through open fields and olive tree plantations with the Sierra Tramuntana as a backdrop. In the tranquil village of Campanet we can visit the local limestone caves before heading back to the coast by passing through the Albufera.
Free day for relaxing or alternative programs. The keen cylists can try out the more challenging ride all the way along to the north eastern Cap de Formentor, with spectacular views along the way (approx. 20km ride). Alternatively explore the capital Palma on public transport.
Ride through some of the nicest villages in the north with rich agricultural land. Short bus transfer to Sineu with time for a visit, then we cycle to Muro and on small country lanes to Can Picafort for a swim at one of the best beaches on the island. Later, transfer by bus to hotel.
Morning bus transfer to the tiny village of Orient, tucked away into the southern slopes of the Sierra Tramuntana foothills. We cycle a scenic route through rural Mallorca, with mountains as the backdrop, passing through charming villages like Selva, Campanet and the artists heaven Pollença.
Why not going for a walk on the old pilgrims route up to Lluc monastery in the Sierra Tramuntana?
Transfer to Mallorca airport and flight home.
